Full-time for 7 weeks, with a total of 175 hours.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is an intensive English course, which is designed to develop all skills through an interactive and context based study of grammar, pronunciation and acquisition of vocabulary. Students learn how to communicate effectively in English and how to adjust to their new environment, the key conventions of standard English, necessary to participate in social interactions in the classroom and the community. Students are able to locate information in reference materials and from media works. At the end of the course, students will acquire essential vocabulary and language structures to express their opinions on various topics.

By the end of EAP 120, the students will be able to:

• Give and understand basic descriptions
• Express ability and inability
• Talk about their likes and dislikes
• Understand and ask simple questions and commands in a predictable context
• Understand public signs, bank slips, product labels, ads
• Read and understand the purpose and general idea of short texts
• Write personal information in forms and write about familiar situations
